Zoroasterianism Zoroasterianism is practiced today, but not by great numbers of people. The religion is usually associated with Persia. In modern Persia, ie Iran, Muslims conquered Zoroasterians many centuries ago and have actively suppressed the expression of that religion there. Many Zoroasterians came to India centuries ago and have maintained a small presence here. Zoroasterians are often -- rightly or wrongly -- depicted as fire worshippers. The 'god' or spirit of fire is named Ahura Mazda [the name Mazda is used by the Japanese car builder, but in the original Japanese the company is named after the Matsuda family]. Evil or Satan or the devil in Zoroasterianism is Ahriman.
