Salad Dressing
By Noo Yawka of HimalayaIT
Never ever use bottled dressing when making a salad. Here's a simple, delicious dressing that needs minimal preparation: Pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil on the prepared salad ingredients Mix everything so olive oil covers ingredients with a thin coat Add dry ingredients, like salt, pepper and tarragon--that's all you need!! Mix everything Add 1 teaspoon of vinegar or lemon juice Mix everything Eat and enjoy That's all you need to know and do. You don't have to buy those awful prepared dressing with the chemical ingredients. |

I looked at the ingredients of low fat dressings in the USA, and every single one was full of high fructose corn syrup, which is bad for you. I am back on regular dressings, but looking to make my own, will give this a try.

Give it a try. Use as little oil as your tastebuds allow. I wrote 2 tablespoons, but that can change with different salad sizes. Try balsamic vinegar. Absolutely DO NOT FORGET GARLIC!!! Add the garlic with the salt, pepper, tarragon. Did I forget to add garlic in the recipe? My bad.
I always try to cut out salt if I can, but I find that plenty of black pepper, berbs and balsamic vinegar can make the use of salt unnecessary. Plenty of garlic of course :) It's good for you too, as well as tasting good. The other thing I found good to add was Flax Seeds. They aren't always easy to find, but a teaspoon of these in the dressing or on top of the salad is good for you too.

Never tried flax seed. I'll give it a shot once I find some. We also add sunflower seed, walnuts, almonds, peanuts or soy nuts. Could also add Parmesan cheese on top. I'm not an expert, but what I gather is that salt is dangerous only for a small percentage of the population. Most people have no problem with salt. But if you want to be conservative with salt, be my guest.
I know that salt increases water retention amongst other things, and I can really notice my body swell up when I have eaten salty foods, but I would rather eat something that tastes good ans satisfies me, than something that is supposed to be healthy but tastes bland or awful. It you can find something (like your salad dressing) that is both tasty and healthy, that's great :)

I have no idea what your cooking situation is, Poddy. If you cook and have a kitchen take a look at my website: slowbread.blogspot.com Make bread? Sounds very difficult. It's not. If you do it right it consumes about five-ten minutes of any kind of labor and lots of time in between steps. Take a look, this recipe changed my life for the better.
